Noticeboard

If you have forgotten your routine medication or if you will run out before you return home, please contact your own GP and ask them to telephone one of our local Pharmacies. Their contact details are contained on the next tab.

The pharmacy will ask your own GP practice to fax a repeat prescription to them and send the paper copy in the post.

Please ensure you give your GP practice full details of the local Chemist you wish them to fax the prescription to.

The chemist may be unable to accept a faxed copy of the prescription in some circumstances, due to the serious nature of certain medication. In these circumstances, it will be necessary for you to register as a Temporary Resident with a local GP so that you can obtain a prescription. The prescription will be ready 48 hours later unless it is classed as urgent, in which case it will be ready after 5pm the same day.

Please note that it is our policy to supply a MAXIMUM of seven days medication only, for all Temporary Residents. This will enable you to have sufficient time to obtain a prescription from your own GP.

In order to provide this service the GP will need full details of your forgotten medication including name, strength and dosage. If you are unsure about any of these details, please phone your own doctor to obtain the information before contacting a surgery to register with them.

For details of how to register as a Temporary Resident please talk to our reception team.
